About The Position

Live6 is a non-profit community planning and development organization dedicated to increasing economic opportunity and enhancing the quality of life in northwest Detroit. They employ a comprehensive, place-based approach that integrates neighborhood stewardship, resident stabilization through strategic support services, small business attraction and retention, and real estate development. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant community initiatives.

Requirements

• Support the coordination and installation of a pilot commercial solar project.
• Support the planning and development of Live6 as a neighborhood Resilience Hub.
• Work with Live6’s Resident Resources and Support team to advise and plan for the inclusion of sustainability features.
• Attend Marquette County's Climate Adaptation Task Force meetings and the Northern Climate Network's Climate@Noon seminar series.
• Empower the campus and local community to access federal and state climate resources.
• Participate in MHC Fellows member development, shared learning, and collaboration activities.

Responsibilities

• Support the coordination and installation of a pilot commercial solar project, managing activities and rollout with project partners, business owners, and other Live6 stakeholders.
• Assist in the planning and development of Live6 as a neighborhood Resilience Hub, including planning activities and improvements at two key demonstration sites.
• Collaborate with Live6’s Resident Resources and Support team to advise on and plan for the inclusion of sustainability features within existing home repair programs and planning efforts.
• Attend Marquette County's Climate Adaptation Task Force meetings and the Northern Climate Network's Climate@Noon seminar series.
• Empower the campus and local community to access federal and state climate resources by planning meetings, educational programs, and other outreach activities focused on reducing emissions, energy use, and waste.
• Participate in MHC Fellows member development, shared learning, and collaboration activities, including three in-person convenings and monthly virtual trainings.
