About The Position

The MGR - SURGICAL MATERIALS position involves managing purchasing and inventory control activities within procedural departments such as Cath Lab, OR, Endo, and Sterile Processing. The role focuses on acquiring supplies and materials at optimal prices and delivery cycles while maintaining low inventory levels. It also includes managing and developing high-performing teams to ensure quality, service excellence, operational efficiency, and physician alignment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • At least ten years' buying or purchasing experience in health care supply chain operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of shipping, receiving, and overall understanding of supply chain processes and protocols
  • Projects a positive attitude
  • Demonstrated teamwork competencies
  • Strong work ethic
  • Able to maintain proper min/max levels for storeroom
  • Analytical skills necessary to develop and execute a variety of operational analyses
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage the activities of the purchasing and inventory control within procedural departments at Doctors Hospital of Laredo (i.e., Cath Lab, OR, Endo, Sterile Processing, etc)
  • Purchase supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle
  • Maintain lowest possible inventory levels
  • Manage/develop high performing teams to support quality & service excellence, operational efficiency, and physician alignment
