Job Description The Production Scheduling Manager for the ESU Door Team is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all production activities associated with aircraft carrier door systems. This position ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical requirements while supporting overall RCOH production objectives. The manager serves as the primary interface between production, planning, engineering, quality, supply chain, and customer representatives to eliminate barriers to execution and maintain schedule performance.

Requirements

  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling and shipyard operations.
  • Understanding naval maintenance and modernization processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, work packages, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience coordinating multiple work groups across complex industrial projects.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and production scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, and procedural compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute integrated production schedules for all assigned door system work.
  • Coordinate daily production activities to ensure manpower, material, tooling, and technical documentation are available before work begins.
  • Monitor schedule performance and identify risks that could impact milestones, testing, or delivery dates.
  • Lead daily production meetings and communicate priorities, resource requirements, and schedule changes to supervisors and craftsmen.
  • Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling, Material and Logistics, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Test, and Ship’s Force to resolve production issues.
  • Track work package completion, milestone progress, and critical path activities.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety requirements, technical procedures, NAVSEA standards, and company policies.
  • Review work delays, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve schedule adherence.
  • Support installation, repair, modernization, testing, and certification of all assigned door systems.
  • Develop recovery plans for schedule variances and provide leadership updates on progress and forecasted completion dates.
  • Monitor labor utilization and productivity to maximize efficiency while maintaining quality workmanship.
  • Ensure production metrics, reports, and management dashboards are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce rework, and improve communication across departments.
  • Mentor supervisors and production personnel while fostering accountability, teamwork, and ownership of assigned work.
