About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Procurement Manager for Global Release Liners, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Procurement Category Leadership: Providing Category Ownership across 3M Businesses & Divisions, serving as a Strategic Procurement leader for the Release Liners category. Leading and implementing global procurement strategies for the Release Liners category to ensure business continuity, resilience, and value creation. Driving year over year cost reduction, working capital improvement, supplier consolidation, and supply resilience initiatives that support global category and Procurement goals. Establishing and managing strategic supplier relationships that provide access to leading technologies and capabilities. Developing and influencing internal stakeholder partnerships to prioritize activities that deliver on Procurement initiatives – across Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Business/Division teams, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations. Negotiating and establishing moderate to complex vendor contract agreements, holding suppliers accountable to competitive prices, high quality and best in class service. Analyzing procurement data, market and industry dynamics, supplier performance, and cost drivers to identify opportunities that improve service, speed, cost, and overall value. Identifying and implementing solutions for complex supplier and supply chain challenges, requiring ingenuity, creativity, innovation, and strong analytical skills. Business reviews with key internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration, service, capacity, market insights, savings pipeline, and performance improvement. Participate, lead, or recommend continuous improvement projects at suppliers, businesses, or client sites. Advancing procurement digitalization and process optimization by leveraging automation, data analytics, pricing tools, SAP, and AI-enabled 3M tools to improve sourcing efficiency, decision-making, and supplier performance. Ensure the integration of sustainability and corporate responsibility into category strategies. Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Business discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Ten (10) years of combined experience in manufacturing & supply chain, sourcing, procurement or engineering in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Seven (7) years of combined experience supporting or leading supplier negotiations, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and cost savings initiatives in a private, public, government, or military environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with paper or other raw material roll-goods (e.g., films, nonwovens, etc.).
  • Experience supporting complex supplier relationships with a long-term strategic view.
  • Strong negotiation, contracting, supplier management, and project management skills with proven attention to detail.
  • Financial acumen and comfort working with cost models, pricing tools, contract management systems, SAP, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and collaborate effectively across functions, levels, and geographies.
  • Strong systems (AI, ERP, Excel, Power BI) expertise and critical thinking skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and resolution-oriented approach to business challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Responsibilities
