Position Summary Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Providing compassionate care to the children, teenagers and young adults of Central Florida for more than 30 years, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is located on the downtown Orlando campus and includes 156 licensed beds for specialized care for children as well as the Bert Martin’s Champions for Children Emergency Department & Trauma Center, offering trauma care for children as the pediatric site of the Orlando Health ORMC Level One Trauma Center. State-of-the-art pediatric services are provided by a comprehensive staff that includes pediatric subspecialty physicians and a nursing team that is “Magnet” recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care. The hospital also has earned national recognition for 12 consecutive years as a “Best Children’s Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report and was included, together with Orlando Health ORMC, in the IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® list for 2021. Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Hospital Pharmacy is seeking a Manager Clinical Pharmacy. This position, povides service and leadership consistent with the mission and vision of the Department of Pharmacy Services.

Requirements

Pharmacy degree (Doctor of Pharmacy) is required.
Must be licensed as a pharmacist by the Florida Board of Pharmacy or obtain license within 4 months of hire. Once obtained, license must be maintained as active.
Must meet one of the following: • Two (2) years of hospital clinical practice experience with one (1) year completion of an ASHP-accredited residency. • Two (2) years completion of an ASHP-accredited residency or Fellowship. • Five (5) years of hospital clinical practice experience.

Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy Services, is responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy services at the designated practice site.
Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, execute, and monitor clinical pharmacy services designed to improve the quality of patient care while effectively utilizing resources.
Coordinates activities and responsibilities of the pharmacy department to ensure that clinical services are provided with sufficient scope and coverage to meet the requirements/needs of the patient population and community served.
Organizes and maintains appropriate documentation of clinical activities for purposes of pharmacy management and hospital accreditation.
Maintains a clinical practice, such as coordinating verbal and written pharmacotherapy plans, and consultations with physicians and other healthcare providers.
Continuous professional development related to clinical practice.
Supports pharmacist clinical education and training and performance management.
Assists the Pharmacy Director in the development and delivery (site specific) of coaching plans for the Clinical Pharmacy Specialists or other Pharmacy team members as applicable.
Participates in the employee selection processes.
Coordinates the development of policy and procedures, guidelines, and programs encompassing clinical pharmacy services as necessary.
Participates on multidisciplinary committees, such as the Pharmacotherapy Committee and subcommittees.
Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Participates in pharmacy and medical resident training through multidisciplinary patient care rounds, and formal educational programs (site specific).
Serves as preceptor to students and interns for affiliated colleges of pharmacy (site specic
