About The Position

Assists local school cafeteria managers with the organization, training and
supervision of local food service operations

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Required
• 2 years of increasingly responsible experience in quantity food service work in a supervisory role or equal, 2-5 years of which should be in a successful food operation Required
• Valid Tennessee Driver License and vehicle Required

Responsibilities

• Monitors and evaluates cafeteria program through on-site appraisal of cafeterias, food quality, sanitation, reports, food orders and inventory approval and records in order to ensure compliance with local, state and Federal regulations.
• Hire café staff and manager, reviews work schedules, observes and evaluates employees, confers with managers and employees to ensure that any problems or concerns are properly addressed.
• Schedules regular visits to schools that allow Field Manager to view a full day’s operation to encourage communication, train staff, auditing and ensure efficient, correct and compliant cafeteria operation.
• Interprets Nutrition Services policy and procedure to ensure that managers understand regulations and that cafeteria operations comply with Federal, state and local laws.
• Demonstrates and explains proper job procedures; schedules and reviews reports and records, execute formal corrective actions and changes to improve manager and staff performance.
• Participates in developing and conducting training for personnel to encourage efficient performance.
• Plans promotions and marketing of services and events.
