About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking talented Mgr II Level Software engineers who are looking for a company that fosters a work environment in which technical excellence is highly valued. You will be an integrated team member collaborating with Systems, Hardware, and Test engineers in one or more of the phases of Project Planning, Requirements Development, Design, Development, Integration and Testing. Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) has technology, engineering and program teams that educate and mentor colleagues to deliver leading Electronic Warfare capabilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities in either a functional and/or technical role
  • Must currently hold an active Secret clearance
  • Ability to lead a medium to large groups
  • Demonstrated ability to guide individuals through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally
  • Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools

Nice To Haves

  • Prior functional management experience (i.e. general supervision, performance management, staffing)
  • Embedded software design and implementation
  • Experience with electronic warfare
  • Deep knowledge in C++
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Suite
  • Cost Account Management/Earned Value Management in a DoD environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, mentoring, career development, and performance management for a team of 7-15 software engineers.
  • Conduct one-on-one and section level meetings.
  • Provide a safe, inclusive culture.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new team members to meet business needs.
  • Use your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Support program execution through cost and schedule management, and metrics tracking.
  • Contribute to bid and proposal efforts.
  • Collaborate with other functional managers and discipline leads to ensure program success.
