About The Position

This is a specialized contract management position focused on healthcare services that manages the comprehensive contract lifecycle for Children's Medical Services, managed care contracts, and other healthcare agreements including procurement, negotiation support, execution, monitoring, and compliance with state and federal regulations specific to pediatric healthcare and Medicaid requirements. The role provides significant healthcare operations assistance by working with clinical teams to oversee facility activities, data analysis, risk management, and service utilization improvement while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements through audit support and compliance monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications. i.e. Work, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with healthcare contract management, particularly Medicaid and managed care agreements
  • Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations (CMS, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Children's Medical Services programs and pediatric healthcare delivery
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting.
  • Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manages comprehensive contract lifecycle for Children's Medical Services, managed care contracts, and other healthcare agreements including procurement, drafting, negotiation support, execution, monitoring, and renewal processes
  • Assists with budget development, prepares and submits proposals and related documents through UFIRST, and processes personnel change and rebudget mod
  • Assists in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining contract documentation to ensure compliance with legal requirements and organizational standards
  • Ensures contract compliance with state and federal regulations specific to pediatric healthcare services, Medicaid requirements, and managed care operations
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams (Clin Ops, Legal, Finance, Division Admins, etc.) and agency to facilitate contract execution, track deliverables, and resolve any contract-related matters
  • Works closely with Contracts & Grants (C&G) to facilitate invoicing, financial reporting, and other financial compliance activities.
  • Monitors vendor, payer, and partner performance in alignment with contract terms and key performance indicators
  • Maintains contract databases and accurate records, milestone deadlines, and performance metrics
  • Supports negotiation activities and responds to contract-related inquiries in a timely manner
  • Works with Clinical Operations team to provide supervision and direction of operational activities in accordance with health system policies and regulations
  • Oversees facility activities and data analysis to aid in planning, risk management, and service utilization improvement
  • Participates in planning and administration of departmental and project activities
  • Resolves escalated problems referred by subordinate supervisors or staff related to contract and operational issues
  • Ensures adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements across all contract types
  • Maintains accurate contract records and assists with audit preparation to ensure effective oversight and compliance within managed care and healthcare operations
  • Identifies, evaluates, and helps resolve complex issues related to contract compliance and healthcare regulations
  • Monitors regulatory changes affecting Children's Medical Services, managed care contracts, and healthcare operations
  • Ensures compliance with University non-discrimination and workplace harassment policies
  • Establishes operational goals and objectives that align with overall strategic plan
  • Advises faculty, staff, and administrators regarding university policies and procedures related to contract management and healthcare operations
  • Interprets and administers policies and procedures related to contract compliance and managed care operations
  • Prepares regular reports on contract status, performance metrics, operational outcomes, and audit findings
  • Performs additional responsibilities as determined by departmental needs and supervisor direction
  • Assists with special projects, training initiatives, and process improvement efforts
  • Provides backup support for other team members during absences or high-volume periods
