About The Position

Manages the environmental, industrial, health and safety regulation compliance for one or multiple facilities. Oversees the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies; develops procedures (chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention, and building safety) used throughout the company. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental safety and handles all contact with appropriate agencies. Oversees licensed hazardous and radioactive waste disposal and monitors waste handling. Develops and oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as compliance training, lab/plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety. May be the point of contact for emergency personnel and manage workers compensation program administration. Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. The NA Region EHS Manager will lead a team of EHS professionals to support a 24/7 regional service group across the U.S. Provides coaching, leadership, and supports decision making for EHS related problem resolution. Implements and updates the Health and Safety programs in alignment with Corporate EHS standards and consistent with service regions globally. Oversees the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health and safety processes and training with a focus on incident prevention and continuous improvement. May be required to deliver some live training. Lead or support management with conducting incident investigations using 8D methodology. Must be capable of identifying core causal factors and driving preventive measures to fully prevent recurrence. Administers the initiation of workers compensation claims and partners with internal and external departments to ensure claims are managed effectively. Partner with regional EHS leaders to develop operating plans and objectives to address risks and opportunities within the region. Demonstrate strong capability with completing objectives through relationship building, credibility, and expertise with the EHS field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 7+ years of supervisory experience
  • 10 + years of progressive EH&S experience
  • Strong knowledge of EH&S regulations, standards, and best practices, including Control of Hazardous Energy, Electrical Safety, Chemical Safety, Behavioral Safety, and Ergonomics.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing EH&S programs and initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective ability to communicate and form partnerships.
  • Problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Semiconductor experience preferred.
  • EH&S certifications (e.g. Certified Safety Professional)
