Make a Difference The Manager of Category Management is a people leader and working manager responsible for the strategic and operational management of assigned supply and service categories across the network. This role leads Category Management team members while overseeing category strategy development, sourcing execution, supplier performance, and measurable financial and operational outcomes. This role partners with clinical, operational, and Supply Chain stakeholders to support standardization, utilization optimization, supplier performance, and cost management initiatives aligned with organizational priorities. This position provides leadership, direction, and oversight for category strategies and sourcing activities while driving consistent execution and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, category management, or related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional projects is required.
  • Strategic sourcing and category management expertise
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement
  • Analytical and financial acumen
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of leadership, team management, or direct oversight experience is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare supply chain, strategic sourcing, or category management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead category strategies and sourcing initiatives (RFPs, negotiations, contracts)
  • Manage and develop Category Management team members
  • Partner with clinical, operational, Finance, and Supply Chain stakeholders
  • Drive supplier performance, savings, and contract compliance
  • Utilize data to inform decisions, identify opportunities, and validate results
  • Support cross-functional implementation and process improvements
