About The Position

Under general supervision, operates sophisticated, multi-modality ultrasound equipment to obtain quality ultrasonic images. Positions patient and adjusts ultrasound equipment to the correct setting for each examination. Performs and properly documents ultrasound diagnostic tests to OBGYN patients with specific attention to the specialized procedures unique to perinatal medicine. Ensures the ultrasound exam is of acceptable diagnostic quality and records preliminary findings to assist in physician interpretations.

Requirements

  • Completion of a one (1) year ultrasound training program at an approved school of diagnostic imaging or a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of supervised on-the-job training.
  • MFM experience required
  • Healthcare Provider (CPR Certification)
  • NT Nuchal Translucency certification (required)
  • RDMS OBGYN (required)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • 3-5 years Demonstrated ability to perform advanced Doppler exams, including umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery and ductus venosus Doppler (Required)
  • 3-5 years Demonstrated knowledge of performing 3D/4D exams (Required)
  • 3-5 years Experienced in guiding physician during invasive procedures (Required)
  • 3-5 years Prior experience in perinatal sonography (Required)
  • 3-5 years proven skills in critical and conceptual thinking, thorough knowledge of fetal anatomy (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 80% of the work time and position patients for up to 20% of the work time.
  • Ability to push, pull, and handle heavy equipment (up to 200 lbs.).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (frequently up to 25 lbs., continuously up to 10 lbs.).
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and tasks requiring good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to balance, bend, climb, crawl, crouch, kneel, squat, reach, and lift (floor to waist and overhead) continuously throughout the shift.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Visual acuity is sufficient to read printed materials and computer screens.
  • Adequate hearing to communicate in person and by telephone and to hear alarms and normal speaking voices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
  • Ability to accurately document information by writing or typing.
