Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering or a related field and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 7 years of experience with building and programming automation sequences for machining and assembly lines using Siemens PLCs including S7-300 series and IM151 safety PLCs.
  • 7 years of experience developing PLC logic and HMI screens via Step 7, WinCC Flexible, or TIA Portal across multiple platforms.
  • 7 years of experience maintaining safety interlocks signals for safe operating environment, part tracking including FIS or QLSCM, and machine diagnostics.
  • 7 years of experience utilizing Siemens CNC 840D sl and S120 Servo systems for high-precision crankshaft and block machining operations.
  • 7 years of experience configuring servo axes and drive parameters using SinuCom NC or Starter tools for synchronized multi-axis motion.
  • 7 years of experience optimizing motion accuracy and reliability in plant environments, in collaboration with mechanical and software teams.
  • 3 years of experience integrating industrial robots into engine machining and assembly lines, primarily for part handling and automated loading/unloading utilizing robots including FANUC or ABB, based on industry usage with Siemens PLCs and HMI systems using standard I/O and safety protocols.
  • 2 years of experience configuring Schneider PLCs for auxiliary automation functions within multi-vendor manufacturing environments for new launch engine types.
  • 2 years of experience developing HMI interfaces using Magelis PL7 and Unity Pro for seamless operator interaction.
  • 2 years of experience building and deploying visual inspection stations for defect detection and quality verification on engine block lines and assembly lines, along with Integrating smart sensors and laser-based detection units including Keyence and Cognex with Siemens, Schneider, or PL7 PLCs for pass/fail decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cross-functional resources to identify root causes of technical issues and develop validated, actionable solutions.
  • Design and implement AI-powered vision control systems based on advanced technical knowledge of vision technologies.
  • Work with a variety of vision cameras and programming software; continuously evaluate and improve equipment for better quality and delivery performance.
  • Maintain and update program backups for automation and machinery systems.
  • Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, products and systems to ensure conformance to specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Support new installations and upgrades of automation systems, gantries, material handling equipment, and robots—especially for regular/hybrid engine manufacturing.
  • Reprogram, validate, and troubleshoot equipment in response to engineering changes, focusing on sustainability, continuous improvement, and emission reduction by upgrading or replacing obsolete technology.
  • Review equipment safety through risk assessments and ECPL (Energy Control and Power Lockout) placards to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Read, modify, and approve electrical schematics and AutoCAD drawings for system installations and upgrades.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Assist in training plant electricians and manufacturing personnel on systems and safety procedures.
  • Use plant software tools including FIS, QTS, QWX, LMA, and AI-based visual inspection systems to monitor equipment cycle times and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Operate and troubleshoot a range of systems including PLCs, CNCs, Safety PLCs, Siemens, Schneider, Rexroth, VFDs, Servos, PROFINET, Modbus, ABB robots, and AI vision systems.
  • Maintain working knowledge of OA, CPN/MPN networks and industrial communication protocols for both wired and wireless connectivity.
