About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Metrology Specialist to join our Quality team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of manufactured components through precision measurement, inspection, and calibration activities in a high-volume die-casting environment. You will support overall quality assurance by verifying that parts strictly conform to dimensional, geometric, and tolerance requirements, directly contributing to defect reduction and process optimization.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3+ years of quality inspection or metrology experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven proficiency in operating and programming CMM software platforms.
• Strong expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Hands-on mastery of precision measuring instruments and blueprint interpretation.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality management frameworks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and specialized metrology/data management software.

Nice To Haves

• Associate Degree or technical certification in Metrology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Die-casting experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with die-casting processes and specialized tooling.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
• Practical knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of die-cast components using CMM, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical measurement systems.
• Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (e.g., Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Hexagon) to measure complex geometries and critical dimensions.
• Create, maintain, and execute measurement programs, inspection plans, and standard procedures.
• Analyze measurement data to ensure complete compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T standards, and customer specifications.
• Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to troubleshoot dimensional anomalies and support root-cause investigations.
• Support First Article Inspections (FAI), PPAP submissions, and quality system audits.
• Calibrate and maintain metrology tools to guarantee traceability back to national standards.
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records in accordance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards.
• Work alongside tooling and process engineers to drive die-casting process enhancements and measurement efficiency.
