About The Position

ASRC Federal is seeking a ORION Optics\Metrology Engineer 2nd Shift at Kennedy Space Center, FL. This role involves performing precision laser alignment and laser tracking model functions. The engineer will also undertake various electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks for specific production units, developmental or prototype requirements in product development, manufacturing engineering, or preproduction operations where documentation and guidance may be limited. Work will be performed from schematics, blueprints, and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components, utilizing standard electronic assembly tools and materials. Modifications, rework, and quality testing may also be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 2-4 years or more of experience.
Must have experience with SA Spatial analyzers, FARO Leica laser trackers and tooling.
Must have experience with precision laser alignment & laser tracking model functions.

Responsibilities

Perform precision laser alignment & laser tracking model functions.
Performs a variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of specific production units, developmental or prototype requirements in product development, manufacturing engineering or preproduction operations where documentation and guidance may be limited.
Works from schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.
Uses standard electronic assembly tools and materials.
May perform modifications, rework, and quality testing.
