Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets documentation, such as work orders, inspection manuals, and drawings, to determine preferred inspection plan.
  • Input to development of methodologies and procedures for part qualifications following established standards and best-known methods.
  • Conduct part setup, including CMM programming and optimization utilizing 3D models, prints, fixturing and probe calibration
  • Conduct inspection of parts (known as part to print inspections or PPIs) and packaging utilizing standard tools and methodologies.
  • Utilize a variety of inspection tools to ensure materials comply with defined specifications, including surface plates, height gages, pin gages, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, etc …
  • Compare measurement outputs, observations and available data against design requirements to determine pass/fail.
  • Document findings, report data, and make final disposition determination (MRB) on incoming and stock materials.
  • Provide inspection result feedback to others in various departments including Supplier Engineering , Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering
  • Support Manufacturing Rapid Response Team (MRRT) and offline PPI requests.
  • May include tracking and updating the metrology lab's calibrations for all tools in the work area.
  • Participate in Gage R&R studies, when conducted.
  • Work closely with other departments to support NPI builds and engineering requests.
  • Responsibilities will include ownership of managing lab inbound inventory and metrics and reporting related to its status.
