This position performs the installation, removal, testing, calibration, repair, and maintenance on Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) field devices. The role involves reading and recording meter readings, both automated and manual, connecting and disconnecting water meters, and inspecting meters for defects, damage, or unauthorized connections. Responsibilities also include the replacement of AMR/AMI devices and water meter boxes/lids, closing metering work orders, and investigating metering irregularities. The technician will perform preventative maintenance on AMI field network devices, handle disconnect non-payment service orders, and assist customers with metering issues. Additionally, the role requires operating power metering test equipment, coordinating repairs, and maintaining city-provided equipment, including the assigned vehicle.
