Requirements

Associate or higher degree from an accredited tech school or college in electronics engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, computer engineering technology or communications technology. OR have 3-5 years prior field work experience relevant to job description or comparable work experience
Valid Driver's License
Effective Written and verbal communications skills necessary for customer and team interaction.
Knowledge of basic/electrical principles and demonstrated proficiency in basic math skills
Familiarity with basic computer operations and able to run common application programs such as Microsoft Office Products.
Ability to pass background screening to become NERCI-CIP compliant
Must possess all of the basic/required qualifications.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with electrical schematics, electrical troubleshooting and installations
Familiarity with watt-hour metering and associated equipment
Knowledge of Electric distributions systems, e.g. different services types and voltages
Knowledge of service area within reporting location.

Responsibilities

Install, test, troubleshoot, and program meters.
Perform Interchange Tie-Testing, Wholesale/Transmission metering, and Plant Metering.
Conduct high-end metering installations including JemStar, ION, Q1000 and translate meters.
Work with Mobile Work Management Systems (SS9) application as well as other Duke applications such as Maplink, CBIS, Powertrack, etc.
Utilize telecommunications devices (i.e. Wireless, Cellular, RS 232/474, ethernet).
Apply knowledge of communication protocols (ie DNP, MODBUS, etc.).
Perform general troubleshooting.
Interact with customers, often involving conflict resolution.
Respond to call outs, extended days, and weekend work for scheduled projects or emergency restoration work.
Receive and complete daily work via mobile laptops in trucks.
Handle testing equipment and materials, which involves squatting, lifting, and carrying up to 60 pounds.
