About The Position

The position ensures accurate consumer billing by timely reading of member meters. Processes reconnects, disconnects, change-outs, trouble orders in accordance with established policies.

  • Maintain courteous and cooperative relations with member-consumers that create good will.
  • Maintain good relations in all contacts with the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Reads residential and commercial meters on assigned route as needed. Verifies meter number, reading of dials, multiplier, if applicable, status of account, rate class and location.
  • Completes connect, disconnect and reconnect orders, meter changes, general service orders, TWACS and non-pay orders.
  • Responds to member questions and reports service problems to appropriate cooperative personnel.
  • Installs, reconnects and disconnects Remote Disconnect Collars (RDC).
  • Performs read-out, read-in meters for out-going and incoming accounts.
  • Inspects existing service facilities to determine unauthorized connections, investigates and reports irregularities to the appropriate Magic Valley personnel. Takes necessary corrective action as directed.
  • Inspects meters, loops and service wires for any hazardous condition and reports to appropriate supervisor.
  • Assumes responsibility for vehicle, tools and equipment assigned. Maintains vehicle and makes sure that vehicle is stocked with proper material.
  • Assists Lineman in restoring electric service while on-call.
  • Observes all safety rules.
  • Shall be required to perform any other duties assigned in order to fulfill the objectives of the Cooperative.
