About The Position

The Village of Lemont is seeking motivated and enthusiastic candidates to fill the role of Meter Reader/Technician. This part-time position involves reading commercial and residential utility meters, recording and reporting readings, and performing water meter and register installations. The role may require entering private residences, businesses, basements, utility rooms, crawl spaces, or other areas where water service equipment is located.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent training and experience.
Valid driver's license.
Safe driving record.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to handle public interactions.
Knowledgeable of the community.
Skills and aptitude to analyze and fix problems with meters.
Capability to install and repair meters.
Ability to complete assigned routes on a timely basis.
Ability to work alone in the field.

Responsibilities

Reading commercial and residential utility meters along assigned routes.
Recording and reporting meter readings.
Performing water meter and register installations at Village properties and customer locations.

Ensuring utility services run smoothly.
