About The Position

Requirements

  • Education experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a GED.
  • A minimum of one year of experience involving public contact.
  • A valid Class C California driver's license.
  • Ability to maintain insurability under the district's vehicle insurance policy.

Responsibilities

  • Read and record residential, commercial, industrial and automated meter readings on assigned routes, ensuring accuracy within historic consumption limits.
  • Observe and report any damaged or inoperative meters and services.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintain meter boxes.
  • Interact with customers to address questions and concerns about leaks or service issues, referring them to the appropriate department when necessary.
  • Maintain and update electronic records and handheld devices used for meter reading and communication.
