About The Position

Install and maintain self-contained electric meters energized up to 240 volts in the shop and on customer premises. The successful candidate must live within a 45-minute reporting time of the North Charleston Service Center, 404 29th Street W, Charleston, WV 25387. This position is posted as a range, and we bill filled based on experience and education.

Requirements

Associates Degree in electrical/electronic technology. Equivalent education and experience is limited to military training and work experience of technical/technician nature (such as aviation and nuclear instrumentation technician).
State Driver License. Must possess and maintain a medical certification card, if determined to be required by law.

Responsibilities

Read meters as required for field order and on schedule for cycle billing
Install, remove, change disconnect, and reconnect meters
Test single phase, network, and polyphase self-contained meter for proper operation and accuracy
Program meters
Perform Credit and Collections related order including disconnect and reconnect for non-payment
Investigate irregular usage
Investigate energy diversion
Repair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosures
Order, receive, ship, store, and inventory meter and associated equipment
Investigate self-contained service power quality problems, install event recorders, neutral testers, and produce reports
Perform work from ladders and elevated platforms
