KOAM News Now is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and knowledgeable meteorologist to join our weather team. Situated in one of the country's most active weather markets, this role offers a unique opportunity to expand a trusted and dominant weather brand. We're looking for a weather enthusiast who combines deep meteorological expertise with exceptional storytelling skills to deliver weather stories that truly resonate with and protect our community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in meteorology
- Confident and engaging on-air presence with a conversational and relatable delivery style.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency with WSI weather systems is preferred but not required.
- Experience preferred, particularly with forecasting severe weather systems.
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and compelling weather forecasts with an emphasis on impactful and inconvenient weather conditions.
- Create innovative, engaging weather content that adds value and captures attention across all digital, streaming and broadcast platforms.
- Translate complex meteorological data into clear, accessible explanations, highlighting the “why” and relevance behind your forecasts.
- Actively contribute to the KOAM+ streaming app, KOAM website and social media channels, fostering strong audience interaction and feedback loops.
- Provide urgent weather updates and critical information both from the studio and on location during severe weather events.
