About The Position

KTUL is seeking a temporary, part-time Meteorologist to present weather forecasts for the news. The Meteorologist is responsible for weather-cast content on air and on digital platforms, including forecasting, producing, and presenting clear, concise weather casts that tell a story and connect with viewers. The role also involves issuing warnings and alerts, creating graphics and maps, reporting live during weather events, using social media during severe weather, writing weather stories, making public appearances on behalf of the station, and working with producers to determine relevant weather content for breaking and everyday situations. Requirements

Ability to tell memorable and meaningful stories, with an emphasis on visual and compelling storytelling.
Ability to demonstrate experience with active and visual live shots.
In-depth knowledge of forecasting.
Sharp news judgment and exceptional writing skills.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
