Requirements

• a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma
• completion of basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading training
• the ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers
• a operate forklift’s operators license

Nice To Haves

• Six months of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operation checks for both individual machines and work area.
• Perform safety inspections required for individual machines and associated equipment (i.e. fork truck, cranes, hoists)
• Set-up and operate mill and shear.
• Set-up and operate drill and punch presses.
• Set-up and operate brazing equipment to braze various products.
• Assemble carbide to blades for braze process.
• Inspect, paint, straighten, and package finished product.
• Changes tools, adjusts and/or sets up shears, or milling machines, including selecting proper cutters, determining feeds and speeds, and replacing cutters when dull as required.
• Assist other operators as needed.
• Inspect parts to meet established ISO requirements
• Support functions and change-overs to meet established due dates
• Responsible for tracking and problem solving of the materials used and efficient equipment use to reduce cost
• Responsible for management of WIP and components (i.e., carbide, braze, flux and steel).
• Perform cycle counts as specified.
• Participate in lean events and utilize lean processes in daily duties
• Perform daily required TPM on associated equipment
• Perform daily required 5S activities for work area
• Perform daily activities associated with gathering and posting established metrics
• Accurate and timely recording of required data (i.e. Production, quality etc)
