About The Position

At Samsung Austin Semiconductor, the Process Technician monitors and optimizes chemical and physical manufacturing-process parameters to ensure product quality. The role involves tracking production data and adjusting equipment settings to maintain process stability and minimize defects. The technician conducts routine tests and analysis to identify deviations from standard operating procedures, and works with process engineers on improvements and scaling new technologies. The primary goal is to maximize yield and ensure consistent production output.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree (AAS/AS) or technical certificate in Electronics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Automation, Electromechanical Technology, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent military technical training.
• At least 2 years of semiconductor process technician experience.
• Familiarity with SPC, cleanroom protocols, and basic data analysis using Excel/MES.

Responsibilities

• Set up recipes by understanding recipe structures, entering parameters, and verifying setups through initial wafer evaluations.
• Calibrate process conditions by adjusting parameters within recipe specifications and managing the history of changes.
• Identify key factors and conduct sensitivity analysis to derive and verify optimal process conditions.
• Define process windows, set upper and lower limits, and perform margin analysis to ensure stability.
• Monitor process quality and stability and respond to abnormalities in production flow.
• Execute and validate process changes to ensure they do not negatively affect product quality.
• Perform technical analysis and design to optimize processes and maintain high yield.
