About The Position

Provide metals engineering support for a number of customer programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering required
  • One to two years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software
  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software

Responsibilities

  • Assists Business Units with introduction of new/re-engineered products
  • Establishes procedures, instructions, and training to support new metal products
  • Ensures all new/re-engineered processes are “manufacturing ready”
  • Assists in establishing and implementing quality specifications, testing, etc. for metals components, supplier components, subassemblies, and finished goods
  • Assists in the resolution of daily production and quality issues
  • Interacts with Business Units and/or customers, as required, to identify process/product improvements and to ensure Total Customer Satisfaction
  • Optimizes and continuously improves metals operations by identifying and implementing quality and productivity improvements for products
  • Identifies improvements to ensure continued compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations as well as UL, FDA, and ISO 9002 requirements
  • See, reads, and complies with all company policies and procedures
  • Works with co-workers in a safe, professional, and cooperative manner
