About The Position

XNRGY is one of North America's fastest-growing manufacturers of sustainable HVAC and liquid cooling solutions for hyperscale and mission-critical data centers. As we continue our rapid expansion, we are seeking an experienced Metals Category Manager to lead the sourcing strategy for raw metals and fabricated metal components that support our growing manufacturing operations. This is a strategic role responsible for managing commodity risk, developing supplier partnerships, expanding manufacturing capacity, and driving cost competitiveness across our metals supply base.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of strategic sourcing or category management experience in metals, steel, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of steel markets, CRU Index pricing, and commodity purchasing strategies.
  • Experience sourcing raw metals, fabricated metal components, or sheet metal assemblies.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating long-term supply agreements and commercial contracts.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and supplier relationship management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in HVAC, industrial equipment, or data center manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and other metal commodities.
  • Manage commodity pricing through CRU Index-based agreements, market analysis, and hedging strategies to minimize cost volatility.
  • Source raw materials directly from mills and service centers while optimizing inventory and supply continuity.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop fabrication partners to expand manufacturing capacity and support production growth.
  • Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, long-term agreements, payment terms, and supplier performance expectations.
  • Drive value engineering and material cost reduction initiatives in partnership with Engineering and Operations.
  • Monitor commodity markets and provide recommendations on purchasing strategies based on market trends.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers while ensuring performance in quality, delivery, cost, and capacity.
