Requirements

Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science or a related discipline.
Strong knowledge of physical metallurgy and metal processing methods.
Industrial experience within metallurgy, materials development or manufacturing.
Experience leading technical projects and managing priorities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and build effective stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead materials development and research projects from concept through delivery.
Provide physical metallurgy expertise to support R&D and manufacturing operations.
Plan, execute and analyze experiments and production trials.
Support capital projects through process development and equipment evaluations.
Collaborate with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges.
Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
