About The Position

Northern Star Resources Limited is seeking a recently graduated or soon-to-be graduating Metallurgist for its Pogo operation in Alaska. This 2-year Graduate Metallurgist Program offers the chance to apply acquired education in a gold processing environment, learn from experienced professionals, and gain experience within a multi-national mining company. The Pogo mill provides opportunities to develop knowledge in grinding, gravity concentration, flotation, leaching, and filtering unit operations. Graduates will be mentored to understand and complete key metallurgical duties and will spend time with operations, maintenance, and mining departments to gain a full appreciation of the mine site's operations. Successful completion of the program can lead to a career path as a technical expert within Northern Star and the wider mining industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree in Metallurgy/Materials or Chemistry from an accredited institution of higher learning
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Display good problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills
• Must be able to pass a post-offer physical and drug test
• Must be able to pass a criminal history and background check

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working in a mill, mine or other industrial setting is well regarded.
