About The Position

This role involves identifying and communicating recommended actions related to pipeline safety, incident reporting, material quality, and design issues to management. The position provides professional input for developing the company's stance on new pipeline and safety regulations concerning materials, welding, non-destructive testing, corrosion, repairs, and the implementation of safety regulations. The engineer will ensure compliance with the Department of Transportation’s pipeline integrity management program according to Pipeline Safety Regulations and participate in ongoing compliance with Pipeline & Hazardous Material Safety Administration regulations through internal audits and preparation for agency audits. BHE Pipeline Group operates approximately 21,200 miles of pipeline with a design capacity of approximately 21.1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day, owns assets in 27 states, and operates 22 natural gas storage facilities.

Requirements

  • Metallurgy or Materials Engineering degree.
  • Experience in pipeline materials, welding, non-destructive testing, corrosion, and repairs.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation’s pipeline integrity management program and Pipeline Safety Regulations.
  • Familiarity with Pipeline & Hazardous Material Safety Administration regulations.
