The Services Technology Acceleration Center (STAC) is dedicated to advancing aerospace inspection technologies and repair processes and enhancing customer support capabilities for its Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities around the globe. This role is responsible for performing metallurgical preparation and evaluation of various types of coatings and materials for aircraft engine component repair. The technician will operate typical metallurgical equipment including, but not limited to, hardness testing, micro-hardness testing, metallurgical sample preparation, stereo microscope, metallurgical microscope, chemical bath titration equipment, and provide analytical data accordingly. Adherence to laboratory procedures when operating Lab equipment is expected. The role involves working in the Services Technology Acceleration Center (STAC) metal lab as well as performing other related technical duties on the shop floor with training and guidance. The position is responsible and accountable for product safety and the quality of work, including, as a minimum, all elements defined in the GE’s Quality Policy.
