About The Position

The Metal Systems Support Specialist provides technical design guidance, coordination, and program support for metal edge systems and components as they integrate with FiberTite roofing assemblies. This role ensures metal edge systems are designed accurately and efficiently to reduce rework, prevent field escalations, and support successful installation. The position facilitates iterative design coordination to balance performance requirements, constructability, and material efficiency while maintaining compliance with project specifications and warranty intent. In addition to project-level support, the role contributes to the development, refinement, and governance of the FiberTite Metal Systems program. This role supports both internal Technical Services functions and Authorized Applicators, with internal prioritization, and will initially focus on Strategic Account projects.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in metal fabrication, roofing, construction, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with a proven track record of accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across functions.
  • Proficiency with standard office technology, CAD, and other digital documentation tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a technical support, design coordination, or specification-driven role.
  • Familiarity with roofing systems, edge metal systems, or enclosure components.
  • Exposure to GIS-enabled tools, field data capture, or digital plan review platforms.
  • Certificate or degree in Engineering, Architectural Drafting, Construction Technology, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and refine metal edge system design details to ensure compatibility with FiberTite roofing systems.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, project specifications, submittals, and shop drawings related to metal edge components.
  • Apply knowledge of material limitations, constructability constraints, and installation sequencing in all design recommendations.
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal teams, Field Technical Representatives, Authorized Applicators, and vendors.
  • Facilitate iterative design discussions to identify opportunities to reduce material usage while maintaining required performance and specification intent.
  • Evaluate alternate details and design approaches to balance system demands, constructability, and cost efficiency.
  • Identify and document instances where project specifications, details, or documentation create unclear or conflicting expectations that may lead to cost escalation or rework.
  • Support Strategic Account escalation processes through clear documentation and technical recommendations.
  • Coordinate with field personnel to verify field and jobsite conditions prior to fabrication.
  • Utilize GIS-enabled tools and field-captured data, where applicable, to align design assumptions with real-world conditions.
  • Identify discrepancies between design intent and field conditions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review and approve metal system takeoffs and pricing inputs (without generating pricing).
  • Support vendor bid reviews to ensure alignment with approved designs and system requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, metal fabricators, and third-party vendors to ensure design intent is maintained through production.
  • Provide oversight of metal edge orders to ensure alignment with approved designs, specifications, and warranty requirements.
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies within specifications, product data sheets, standard details, inspection requirements, and Field Technical documentation.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the FiberTite Metal Systems program, standards, and best practices.
  • Advocate for process, system, and documentation improvements that improve consistency, scalability, and long-term performance.

Benefits

  • Company performance bonus in addition to base salary
  • Flexible work opportunities including flex schedules and remote work from home up to two days per week (if applicable to role)
