Job Summary: Sorts scrap metal according to grade and size by performing the duties outlined below.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to twelve months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Responsibilities
- Removes metal/plastic from sorting table, hand-truck, or conveyor and stacks in piles or places in rack or on conveyor, according to grade of the metal/plastic.
- Gauges types of metal/plastic by sight on sorting table.
- Keeps work area clean.
- Other duties as assigned.
