About The Position

Everlast Roofing is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Metal Slitting Machine Operator to join our Manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring metal slitting equipment to process coil steel according to customer specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience required.
Experience operating metal slitting equipment is required.
Ability to read tape measures, production orders, and dimensional specifications accurately.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a manufacturing environment.
Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and following all safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Forklift and/or overhead crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor metal slitting machinery according to work orders and production specifications.
Read and interpret production schedules, job orders, and measurements to ensure accurate processing of material.
Inspect incoming and outgoing material for quality, dimensions, and defects.
Adjust machine settings and tooling as necessary to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
Perform routine quality checks and measurements throughout the production process.
Safely load and unload steel coils using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
Package and label finished products according to customer and company requirements.
Maintain accurate production records, inventory documentation, and quality reports.
Identify equipment issues, material inconsistencies, or quality concerns and report them to supervisors promptly.
Perform basic machine maintenance and daily housekeeping activities to ensure equipment reliability.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist with inventory counts and bi-annual physical inventories.
Support team members and assist in training new operators as needed.
Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
