About The Position

Metal finishing and plating is a critical part of U.S. manufacturing, touching industries like medical devices, aerospace, defense, tools, and hardware. This trade is not typically taught in schools, so Nico Products offers comprehensive training, including hands-on experience and online coursework covering plating processes, metals, and chemical properties. The company emphasizes the importance of work ethic, reliability, and initiative, presenting this role as a career path with long-term opportunities for growth. Candidates should be aware of the warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to heat, humidity, dust, and noise, and understand that this is active, hands-on work. The company has a clean warehouse and complies with OSHA, Federal, and State regulations. Nico Products is looking for career-oriented individuals who are willing to grow with the company, with opportunities to become an expert, a lead/trainer, move to different departments, or pursue supervisory/managerial roles. Interviews are conducted in person only and are located in Minnesota. Candidates not currently residing in MN must have definite relocation plans to be considered.

Requirements

• Reliable attendance and strong work habits
• 0-2 years plating or manufacturing experience
• Ability to follow directions, and work safely
• Attention to detail
• Basic math and measuring skills
• Comfort with tools like rulers/tape measures and digital systems (computers/tablets)
• Teamwork and cooperative mindset
• Commitment to safety and quality standards
• U.S. work authorization
• MUST be able to speak, read, write, and understand English

Nice To Haves

• Forklift experience is a plus!
• Interest in industry certifications (CEF/NASF)
• Desire to meet production and performance expectations

Responsibilities

• Perform plating operations per specifications and quality standards
• Set up, monitor, and control plating lines and chemical baths
• Process parts for required durations per shop paperwork
• Inspect parts for thickness, defects, and quality compliance
• Verify correct racking prior to plating
• Operate and assist with plating tanks and rinse systems
• Complete all required paperwork accurately
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use PPE
• Identify and report process or equipment issues
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Work independently while meeting production goals
