Responsible for rolling, braking, drilling, cutting and part preparation as directed by standard work documents. Maintain a consistent workflow to ensure safe operation, quality product and consistent delivery. Must be able to operate plate roll, press brake, saw, drill press or work as an iron worker. Use various tools such as cutting torches, hand tools, drills, angle grinder, punches, tape measures, scrapers, saw, drill press or other types of finishing tools to ensure quality product. Safely operate related equipment including forklifts, hoists, slings and bandsaw. Inspects parts for defects and check measurements to ensure compliance. Read, understand and follow job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions and procedures. Must inspect and inventory all parts before starting job. Notify shop foreman of any problems with parts or discrepancies with drawings. Responsible for insulating various jobs. Notify quality when job is complete to be inspected before moving onto the next process. Tag with part number and job number then stage parts when job is completed and signed off on by quality. Keeps work area clean, neat and orderly to ensure a safe and efficient workplace. Must be able to operate equipment safely and use safe work habits while preforming the job function.
