Requirements
- 5+ years of fabrication experience
- Experience in welding mild steels
- Knowledge and ability to operate various machines, tools and related equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings is required
- Good communication skills
- Must have own tools
- Ability to work as a team member and individually
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude
- Trade certification or equivalent experience
Nice To Haves
- Automotive tooling experience an asset
Responsibilities
- Perform sequence of various welding and cutting operations for a wide variety of repair and fabrication work
- Fit, align and weld various components
- Design, modify and fabricate special tools and equipment
- Operate various machines, tools and related equipment (drill press, torches, hand tools) etc.
- Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy
- Consult your Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor if you are not 100% sure of how to perform tasks in a safe manner
- Follow all safety rules, standards and procedures at all times in all areas
- Know what types of Personal Protective Equipment are required for the jobs in your area and always use them properly
- Ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy and organized at all times to prevent accidents and produce good quality products
- Report all unusual circumstances and actively participate in and support Continuous Improvements
- Follow all ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure world class quality products are supplied to our customers
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
