About The Position

Reporting to the Cleanroom Production Manager, the Metal Fabricator is a skilled professional responsible for executing metal fabrication tasks within a manufacturing setting. This role involves interpreting blueprints, fabricating components, and ensuring all projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in strict adherence to quality standards.

Requirements

  • Excellent, reliable attendance is a strict requirement.
  • Superior attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Deep understanding of metal fabrication processes, techniques, tools, and machinery designs/uses.
  • Familiarity with reading and understanding shop drawings, safety rules, and operating/maintenance instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Hands-on experience with the safe operation and handling of power tools.
  • Driven, accountable, innovative, and a self-starter who can multi-task and work efficiently to meet commitments.
  • Ability to consistently lift heavy items weighing between 50–75 pounds.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional fabrication experience.
  • MIG Welding certification is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus 5+ years of related work experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

Nice To Haves

  • GTAW and SMAW welding experience is a significant plus.
  • A two-year degree or some college credits is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate & Assemble: Participate directly in metal fabrication tasks including cutting, bending, welding, and assembling metal components.
  • Welding Expertise: Demonstrate strong capability in FCAW-G and GMAW welding applications as required by project needs.
  • Interpret Specifications: Read and accurately interpret technical drawings, shop sketches, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain high-quality control measures throughout the fabrication process to ensure exact specifications are met.
  • Safety Compliance: Prioritize and strictly enforce safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a clean, hazard-free working environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Properly operate, clean, and assist in the routine maintenance of fabrication machinery, hand tools, and power equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to optimize fabrication processes, reduce material waste, and enhance overall efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Team Collaboration: Maintain clear and open communication channels with the project manager, engineers, and fellow team members to meet project deadlines and scope.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional shop and fabrication duties as assigned by management.
