About The Position

Aspen Custom Trailers is a growing business looking for experienced metal fabricators that can do metal core flat and horizontal GMAW. They are seeking individuals with energy, drive, and passion to contribute to their team. Apprentices wanting to become Welder/Fitters are also welcome to apply. The company offers two shifts with shift premiums and operates a large, clean indoor shop with safe work practices. Aspen has been in business for 45 years and has experienced continuous growth, evidenced by numerous long-service anniversaries among its employees.

Requirements

Experience in metal core flat and horizontal GMAW.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams, including numerical conversions.
Ability to use metal-working machines and cutting torches.
Ability to assemble and fit metal sections and plates.
Ability to use welding and fabrication tools.
Ability to perform quality assurance and control.
Ability to ensure effective equipment maintenance, safety, and housekeeping standards.
Ability to build and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
Ability to ensure the overhead crane is used in a safe manner.
Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Alberta Journeyman Metal Fabricator Fitter Ticket or Red Seal Certification.
GMAW experience.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams, including numerical conversions.
Plan the sequence of tasks and determine the most efficient way to cut steel.
Determine and obtain required materials from stock.
Develop and/or mark patterns if required.
Use metal-working machines and cutting torches to cut steel, drill or punch holes, and roll metal.
Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form complete units or sub-units.
Fasten components together.
Utilize welding and fabrication tools.
Perform quality assurance and control.
Ensure effective equipment maintenance, safety, and housekeeping standards are maintained.
Build and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
Ensure the overhead crane is used in a safe manner.
