About The Position

Responsible for reading and understanding assembly instructions, ensuring that the required parts are present and meeting quality control standards.

Requirements

  • Applicable sheet metal fabrication experience
  • Must have the ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to properly utilize provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including eye protection, hearing protection, half-face and/or Powered Air Purifying Respirators, protective clothing, and fall restraint harnesses.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week and be available for overtime when necessary.
  • Available for training in various duties.
  • Consistently/Frequently - see (vision), hear, ability to read and write, ability to interpret information, basic math, reading, and writing in English.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Knowledge of basic math including fractions
  • Skill in reading and interpreting floor plans, work prints, machine instruction manual, and tape measure
  • Skill in using small hand and power tools
  • Ability to measure completed work pieces by verifying conformance to specifications using a feeler gauge, calipers, square, or tape measure
  • Ability to comprehend and follow work instructions and company policies
  • Ability to evaluate and resolve problems
  • Ability to communicate with others in a professional and productive manner
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally to frequently

Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision, sets up and operates metal punch presses, press brakes, roll formers, or shears depending on job assignments
  • Ability to use stops and gauges to set up machines
  • Selects and uses materials to avoid excessive scrap
  • Be able to keep quality tolerances within 1/64 inch
  • Be able to use small hand tools to change tooling, punches, and dies when performing setups
  • Be able to accurately read and interpret drawings
  • Meets quality and production standards.
  • Checks work using measuring devices and squares
  • Adjusts settings as needed to ensure conformance to drawings.
  • May be required to learn to operate or operate other machines within the Walk In/Metal department.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and company policies.
