About The Position

Axiom Custom Products is seeking a skilled and driven Metal Manager to lead and elevate its metal fabrication operations. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives on the shop floor, takes pride in craftsmanship, and knows how to guide a team through complex, high-pressure builds. The Metal Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the metal shop, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to exacting quality standards. This role is critical in planning and scheduling production, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that every project moves through the metal shop smoothly and on time. The position requires translating project requirements into clear work instructions, setting operating procedures, and ensuring the team has necessary resources. The manager will partner closely with operations, purchasing, CNC, and engineering teams to keep workflows aligned and proactive. Attention to detail is essential for inspecting cuts, fit-ups, and welds, and performing quality control to ensure all work meets project specifications and Axiom’s high standards. The role demands adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment where no two projects are the same and deadlines are critical. The candidate will be expected to anticipate challenges, manage labor hours effectively, and communicate proactively with leadership about production needs and constraints. The ability to balance quality, speed, and team performance will directly impact project success and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Strong background in metal fabrication.
  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
