About The Position

The Metadata Manager will oversee the cataloging, organization, and maintenance of digital assets, ensuring adherence to metadata standards for enhanced searchability and usability of digital content. This role involves developing and implementing policies and procedures for digital asset management, as well as creating and executing content strategies to improve user engagement and accessibility of digital collections. The manager will also administer the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platform, coordinate the acquisition, digitization, and preservation of digital resources, and collaborate with various departments to support digital initiatives. Additionally, the position requires data analysis and reporting on digital collections and content strategies, and ensuring a seamless user experience for accessing digital collections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Library and Information Studies, Computer Science, Communications, Digital Humanities, or Information Technology.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in digital librarianship, digital asset management, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in digital library systems, content management systems (CMS), and metadata standards (e.g., Dublin Core, MARC).
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with digital asset management systems and metadata standards.
  • Strong technical skills, including familiarity with content management systems, digital preservation tools, and metadata standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS), Information Management, or a related field from an ALA-accredited program preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Experience Manager preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the cataloging, organization, and maintenance of digital assets.
  • Ensure adherence to metadata standards for enhanced searchability and usability of digital content.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for digital asset management.
  • Develop and execute content strategies to enhance user engagement and accessibility of digital collections.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify content needs and create plans to meet those needs.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance, making data-driven decisions to improve strategy.
  • Manage the AEM platform, including user access, permissions, and troubleshooting.
  • Design and implement workflows within AEM to streamline content management and publishing processes.
  • Stay updated on AEM functionalities and best practices to maximize platform efficiency.
  • Coordinate the acquisition, digitization, and preservation of digital resources.
  • Ensure timely and accurate upload and organization of digital content.
  • Collaborate with content creators to optimize digital assets for various platforms and audiences.
  • Work closely with IT, marketing, and other departments to support digital initiatives and projects.
  • Provide training and support to staff and users on accessing and utilizing digital resources.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of digital literacy programs and workshops.
  • Monitor and analyze usage statistics to inform content development and user engagement strategies.
  • Prepare reports on the status, performance, and impact of digital collections and content strategies.
  • Ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience for accessing digital collections.
  • Gather and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve digital services and content strategy.
