About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Metabolism Dose Formulations Chemist to join their team in Madison, WI. This position is part of the Metabolism studies team and is responsible for the daily preparation of vehicles and formulations for dose formulation. The role involves interacting with scientific staff and clients to research formulation requirements for nonstandard test article preparations, recommending modifications in formulation methods, and adapting techniques to new procedures. The chemist will provide technical guidance and oversight in the Dose Formulation laboratory, review data, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. They will also assist in client visits and study initiations, suggest ways to maximize data quality and laboratory efficiency, and work effectively in a team environment. Identifying and addressing problems with protocols, SOPs, dose preparations, and schedules, as well as working safely with hazardous chemicals, are key aspects of the role. The chemist will also recognize deviations from expected results and collaborate on solutions, and assist in implementing novel mixing procedures and equipment. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree required in chemistry, biology, or related life science
  • 1 or more years of laboratory experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of GLPs and regulatory agency guidelines (e.g. FDA, EPA, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Recognize deviations from expected results and seeks advice from others to formulate a plan
  • Assist in the implementation of novel mixing procedures and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
