About The Position

The MES Engineer will be responsible for creating reports and dashboards from production database data. This role involves collaborating with Process Engineers, Production departments, IT, and Maintenance to define MES requirements for production line enhancements and modifications. The position provides essential production support for MES functions, including interfaces with QAD, PLCs, and Electrical Test systems, as well as maintenance of MES master data, process modeling, MES transactions and user interfaces, and database/reporting operations. The MES Engineer will also develop, modify, or debug MES logic and related IT applications to improve equipment interface and MES operation. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving process and communication malfunctions, authoring and executing software validation activities, and training technicians on machine processes and applications. The role supports manufacturing metrics such as Safety, Engineering Change, OEE, Scrap, and Waste. Additionally, the MES Engineer will configure system settings, execute integration acceptance testing, perform system configuration changes, monitor systems, and correct errors. Training others on systems, software, equipment, and processes is also a part of this role. The position involves researching and implementing cost-effective upgrades, modifying and creating SQL queries and stored procedures for reports and functions, and supporting web applications. Coordination of IT/MES activities with internal and external departments is crucial for achieving zero downtime goals. The role requires adherence to Quality Systems, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Product Safety, Compliance, and Information Security requirements, including maintaining the confidentiality of YFAI information. Compliance with all company policies and procedures is mandatory. The employee must be able to work additional hours and/or overtime as needed to meet deadlines. The ability to multitask, interact professionally with stakeholders, and cooperate with employees at all levels is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Create reports/dashboards from data stored in various production databases.
  • Work with Process Engineers, Production departments, IT and Maintenance to evaluate MES requirements for production line improvements and modifications.
  • Provide production support for MES functions including QAD interfaces, PLC interfaces, Electrical Test interfaces, MES master data maintenance & process modeling, MES functionality (transactions and user interfaces), and Database / reporting functions.
  • Develop, modify or debug MES logic and related IT Applications to enhance equipment interface and operation of the MES.
  • Diagnose and help resolve causes of process and communication malfunctions on all equipment.
  • Author and execute software validation activities with proper oversight to support and maintain the MES.
  • Provide training to technicians on the operation and diagnostics of the machine process and applications.
  • Support manufacturing metrics (Safety, Engineering Change, OEE, Scrap, Waste).
  • Configure system settings and options, plans and executes integration acceptance testing with required documentation.
  • Perform system configuration changes, monitor systems and correct errors.
  • Train others on systems, software, equipment and processes.
