About The Position

This is a senior-level, hands-on technology leadership role focused on managing and improving Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) within a global manufacturing environment. The position sits at the intersection of IT and factory operations (OT), meaning the person will ensure that systems used on the production floor are reliable, efficient, and fully aligned with business goals like productivity, quality, and cost control. The role is not just strategic—it also requires hands-on technical involvement, meaning the person will actively support systems, solve issues, and guide implementations while leading broader technology initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong MES Expertise: Proven experience with MES platforms (especially Apriso) and understanding how they support manufacturing execution.
  • Broad Manufacturing Technology Knowledge: Familiarity with SCADA systems (factory monitoring/control), PLCs & DCS (industrial control systems), ERP systems like SAP (business planning), and databases and system integrations.
  • Experience in Real Manufacturing Environments: Ideally across global operations and different production types (batch, discrete, continuous).
  • Technical + Analytical Strength: Ability to work with data, troubleshoot complex issues, and design efficient system solutions.
  • Leadership & Communication Skills: Comfortable leading initiatives, guiding teams, and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-On Mindset: Someone who can actively support systems, resolve issues, and stay close to the technology.

Responsibilities

  • Own MES Systems End-to-End: Responsible for the full lifecycle of MES platforms—designing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving them to support manufacturing operations.
  • Bridge IT and Manufacturing (OT): Connect traditional IT systems (like SAP) with shop floor technologies (like PLCs, SCADA) to ensure seamless data flow from machines to business systems.
  • Design Technical Solutions (Architecture): Define how systems are structured and integrated, ensuring they are scalable, secure, high-performing, and aligned with company standards.
  • Drive Technology Decisions: Evaluate new tools and decide what technologies should be introduced or improved to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with operations, engineering, and IT teams, translating operational needs into technical solutions and driving alignment across stakeholders.
