About The Position

The MES Analyst I is responsible for providing day-to-day support, maintenance, and administration of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications used within manufacturing operations. This role works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Information Technology (IT), Automation, and other business stakeholders to ensure MES applications support production processes, data collection, product traceability, and quality requirements. The MES Analyst I assists with system monitoring, transaction support, basic troubleshooting, data validation, correction of data-entry errors, and resolution of routine system issues. The position supports manufacturing operations by helping maintain system availability, data accuracy, and operational continuity while gaining experience in MES technologies and manufacturing processes. Working under the guidance of senior analysts and technical teams, the MES Analyst I participates in system enhancements, testing activities, documentation updates, user training, and implementation projects. The role is responsible for investigating and escalating application issues, supporting end users, and ensuring timely communication regarding system performance and production-impacting concerns. The MES Analyst I collaborates with cross-functional teams, including MES, SCADA, Controls Engineering, ERP, Quality Systems, and other manufacturing application teams to support system integrations and data flow between shop-floor and enterprise systems. The position assists with change management activities, user acceptance testing (UAT), system validation efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to the organization's digital manufacturing strategy. The successful candidate demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, customer service orientation, and a willingness to learn manufacturing systems, business processes, and industry best practices. This role serves as an entry-level to early-career position within the MES support organization, providing opportunities for technical growth and advancement into more complex system analysis and project responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of technical experience in problem solving, data analysis, scripting, automation and troubleshooting
  • Exposure to or experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), manufacturing applications, or related production support systems.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and data collection systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written), including the ability to explain and present technical information
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and recommend solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly
  • Creative thinker with attention to detail; strong analytical, multitasking, and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with enterprise systems and manufacturing technologies such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP), SCADA, PLCs, automation systems, or industrial software platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to optimize output and ensure all systems are up-to-date and meet customer needs
  • Ensure daily availability, accuracy, and performance of the MES platform by monitoring system health and resolving operational issues
  • Collaborate with manufacturing users and stakeholders to support MES functionality and help ensure systems meet operational requirements.
  • Support daily MES operations across manufacturing facilities.
  • Monitor MES system performance, availability, and data integrity, escalating issues as needed.
  • Troubleshoot MES errors, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions for system-related incidents.
  • Gather and document business requirements from manufacturing, quality, controls, and engineering teams.
  • Support the configuration, testing, and deployment of MES enhancements under the guidance of senior analysts and technical teams.
  • Work with internal development teams and external vendors to support manufacturing system improvements and issue resolution.
  • Identifies and corrects data-entry and/or workflow errors and performs regular maintenance
  • Provide first-level support to end users, including responding to questions, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with training activities.
  • Act as a liaison between manufacturing, engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and software engineering teams regarding any issues, enhancements, or requests regarding new or existing systems
  • Perform testing and validation of MES changes before deployment under the guidance of senior analysts and technical teams.
  • Coordinate project activities with cross-functional teams.
  • Support validation, change control, and compliance requirements related to MES configuration or system deployments.
  • Responds to support requests during both business and non-business hours
  • Ensure compliance to all Panasonic policy and procedures including SOX compliance
  • Provide feedback, advice, and support regarding any new or existing projects
  • Track project deliverables and communicate status updates
  • Configure and deploy software, devices, equipment, and peripherals throughout the factory
