GreenWaste specializes in all aspects of material collection, processing, and sales, tailoring our service offerings to the unique needs of our customers and communities, and helping to shape the evolution of the solid waste and recycling industry. We work directly with 20+ municipalities and 50+ jurisdictions, operate highly regulated facilities in 10+ locations, and have 1,000+ employees. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven M&A Project Specialist to support the full lifecycle of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnership transactions. This role sits at the intersection of corporate development and environmental services operations, playing a key part in evaluating, executing, and integrating deals that advance our growth strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Environmental Science, or a related field; MBA a plus
  • 3–5 years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting
  • Familiarity with environmental services, waste management, remediation, or adjacent industries strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation methodologies (DCF, comparables, precedent transactions)
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership
  • Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage due diligence workstreams across financial, legal, operational, and environmental compliance domains
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and status trackers to keep transactions on schedule and stakeholders aligned
  • Build and review financial models, valuation analyses, and deal summaries to support investment decisions
  • Liaise with internal teams (operations, legal, finance, HSE) and external advisors (investment banks, counsel, consultants) throughout the transaction process
  • Support integration planning and post-close execution, including operational handoffs and synergy tracking
  • Maintain organized deal documentation, data rooms, and pipeline reporting
  • Conduct market and competitive research on acquisition targets in the environmental services sector
  • Assist in preparing materials for executive and board-level presentations
