About The Position

The Student Worker in the Mercy Ministry Center will play an essential role in supporting MMC’s staff and assisting with the daily operations of Champ ’s Kitchen. This position provides a valuable opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in a professional and visible campus environment while contributing to the mission of the Mercy Ministry Center. This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Requirements

  • MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
  • Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
  • Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous clerical or administrative experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of Champs Kitchen, including checking in visitors, sorting donations.
  • Warmly greet visitors and ensure they are directed to the appropriate individual or meeting.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages as necessary.
  • Perform general office tasks, including copying, scanning, and filing.
  • Monitor and manage Champ’s Kitchen inventory to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Support the coordination of special projects and events.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized office environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
