Requirements

  • Proven experience in category and channel strategy development for moderately complex categories.
  • Strong financial management skills, including profit and loss ownership and budget forecasting.
  • Expertise in supplier management, negotiation, and performance tracking.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform decisions.
  • Demonstrated team management capabilities, including coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Proficiency in leveraging data analytics and digital tools to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, integrity, and supporting company values in all business activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field and 3 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned with long-term business objectives, incorporating pricing, promotion, and channel decisions.
  • Manage profit and loss for assigned categories by analyzing daily business performance and adjusting financial plans accordingly.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, establishing terms, performance metrics, and communication protocols to drive profitability and price leadership.
  • Oversee assortment planning, modular layouts, and product placement to optimize customer experience across channels.
  • Utilize data analytics to inform decisions, identify opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and develop team members, setting performance expectations and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Support execution of business plans by removing obstacles and aligning cross-functional resources.
