About The Position

Zions Bancorporation is seeking a motivated individual to join the Treasury Management Merchant Services team as a Merchant Solutions Consultant. This role is part of the Merchant Services Center of Excellence (COE), which supports sales teams in business development, client onboarding, and serves as a liaison to vendor partners. The COE aims to grow the bank's merchant portfolio and minimize client attrition. The Merchant Solutions Consultant will collaborate with internal and external partners, providing subject matter expertise and support to sales teams and merchant customers. Responsibilities include supporting merchant bid activities, managing relationships, revenue enablement and protection, and contributing to projects that support portfolio growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about learning and customer service, with a desire to support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Expertise in merchant services, including product solutions, functionality, customer service, and operations.
  • Strong account/portfolio management and revenue protection skills, serving as a primary point of contact for top clients.
  • Effective relationship management, acting as a liaison among customers, sales teams, products, and vendors.
  • Sales enablement capabilities, including understanding customer needs, recommending solutions, and supporting onboarding and deployment.
  • Self-motivated, diligent, and eager to learn, with effective collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on teamwork and collective success.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, with 4-7 years of direct merchant services experience or support management within the merchant industry.
  • Immediate working knowledge of merchant services products, solutions, and experience in relationship and project management.
  • Strong expertise in interchange analysis, including audit review and research to identify revenue optimization opportunities.
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS compliance standards to support regulatory adherence and risk mitigation.
  • Proven customer service skills, excellent decision making, problem solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Working knowledge of various software, including Microsoft applications, with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and advocating for others.
  • Able to manage competing priorities, meet strict deadlines and SLAs, and perform effectively in fast‑paced environments.

  • Opportunity to develop advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Forms, Automate, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily management and sales support for merchant portfolios, including bids/analyses, new applications, risk reporting, equipment requests, customer service, revenue enablement, project management, and ongoing revenue protection.
  • Execute high-value activities and meet service level agreements to support strategy implementation.
  • Drive key initiatives and commitments, ensuring timely and high-quality completion.
  • Identify and implement creative solutions for business process improvement and relationship management to optimize workflows and team effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with product, sales teams, and vendor partners to achieve portfolio goals.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and development, especially regarding merchant product offerings, systems, and functionality.
